Mike Dirksen is working on a digital revision of my out-of-print book on the genealogy and history of a clan of Russian Mennonite Immigrants who began to arrive in America in 1873. The clan included Daniel Unruh and my great grandfather Tobias B Unruh from Bruderfeld and Friedenstein in Crimea. Pictures of Mike and me with my grandparents Peter and Maria Buller Wall, Peter and Eva Dirks Unruh and Mike's great grandparents Abraham and Sarah Funk Dirksen. They were all neighbors in Brotherfield township near Parker, South Dakota.

First printed in 1998, Remembering Our Heritage has 583 pages of pre-internet person-to-person research by letter, telephone, and personal interviews. Over twelve years of research went into this history of Wall, Hiebert, Isaac, Penner, Dirksen, Funk, Unruh, Neufeld, Toews, Voth, Wedel, Heinrich and other related families in Europe and North America. A special "Thank You" to the contributing relatives. Also to the Mennonite Brethren libraries in Lodi and San Jose and LDS Family History center in Sutter Creek, CA. Many thanks for your guidance.
