Cliff Wall
In 1986 I decided to make a family tree for my children. Once started, it became apparent that there were many branches that should be recorded. I soon got the genealogy BUG and could not stop. Many relatives joined in with their stories and their connecting branched. the project grew and grew with no end in sight.

Cousin Mayme Wall Slack called in May of 1998 and demanded that I stop. "Enough is enough. Go to print! I want several books to send out before I pass on." Well, I stopped, went to print and this is what you have, 583 interesting pages of Remembering Our Heritage.

A few years ago, I was loading my van with junk, going to the local dump. The phone rang and I went to pick it up. It was Mike Dirksen calling about something in the book.
I told him I was making a second trip to the dump with old boxes of letters and documents I thought was not needed. Mike yelled at me, "STOP! if you don't want that old stuff, I'll come today and pick it all up!" I unloaded what was left. Now I realize that I had already thrown away a part of history I wish I had kept. But now working with Mike, he has taken over and does the day to day updating, reorganization and expansion of these pages for the internet. The end of our work is not in sight.
